what is an zoetrope ?
A zoetrope is a pre-cinema animation devices that produce the illusion of
motion by displaying a sequence of drawings or photographs showing progressive
phases of that motion.
The zoetrope consists of a
cylinder with slits cut vertically in the sides. The slits are there to make sure the user actually sees the snimation and so the images don't blurr together.
In this video clip is the simpsons being animated in a zoetrope which spins the character barts on a skate board dodging homer and the dog. Homer is also chasing their dog also Marge is jumping and wiggling her head.
The Kinetoscope is an early motion picture exhibition device. The Kinetoscope was designed for films to be viewed by one individual at a time through a peephole viewer window at the top of the device.
